Land Surveying

Concentration in the Geography Major

The Department of Geography, in conjunction with the Community College of Baltimore County at Catonsville, is pleased to offer a new program in Land Surveying. The new program meets the professional requirements for the land surveyor in the State of Maryland.

Students electing the 2+2 program (2 years at CCBC and 2 years at TU) must first complete the Associate of Arts degree in Land Surveying at CCBC and then enroll at Towson University to complete a B.S. in Geography. All surveying courses taken at CCBC will transfer to TU, however Towson will only accept a total of 64 credits in transfer. General Education requirements not completed prior to enrollment at Towson will be completed at TU.

Program of Study

For Geography majors enrolled in the CCBC-Catonsville/Towson University 2+2 program in Surveying and Geography, a total of 39 credits are needed to meet the requirements for the major in Geography; 6 credits will transfer from Catonsville and the remainder of the 33 credits must be completed at Towson.
