Study Abroad

Students who are majoring or minoring in a foreign language are strongly urged to spend time, either in the summer or during the academic year, in a country where the chosen language is spoken. The Department of Foreign Languages enthusiastically supports programs offered through the university's Study Abroad Office. Faculty-led, group trips are available to France, Italy, Mexico, and Spain. Students may also pursue individual, independent trips through the Study Abroad Office.

All Foreign Language majors and minors must have their study abroad curriculum approved by their Foreign Languages advisor and the Foreign Languages Chair prior to traveling abroad.

Towson University is proud to offer students the opportunity to study all over the world while earning academic credit toward their degrees. Towson University study abroad programs come in a variety of options and are among the most cost effective. Grades and credits earned on these programs will transfer back to your Towson transcript and count towards your degree. Federal financial aid and TU scholarships can be used to pay for these programs.
