College of Business and Economics

Department of Finance

The Department of Finance offers students a progressive curriculum and quality instruction, incorporating current theories and their applications. The department produces finance graduates who possess the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to function effectively in the financial community. Students are expected to apply their innate creative and analytical abilities while developing their communication, conceptual and quantitative skills.

The curriculum prepares students for positions in the managerial finance, banking, insurance, and securities industries. The program is designed to build a strong foundation for becoming proficient in applying financial tools to investment and making personal financial decisions.

Students are assigned an adviser upon declaring finance as a concentration. Students meet with their advisers each term to discuss their program and for assistance in making any necessary changes in their course of study.
