Bayhawks to play home games at Unitas Stadium

The Baltimore Bayhawks have migrated to TU, bringing with them a sure-to-be- thrilling season of Major League Lacrosse. The team will face the Boston Cannons Thursday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium in the first of six home games to be played on campus... [more...]

Guitar congress set for Towson

The Sun , March 5

Rashod D. Ollison, the Sun 's pop music critic, reported that confirmed World Guitar Congress acts include former Police guitarist Andy Summers, folk-jazz duo Tuck & Patti, R&B-fusion musician Jeff Scofield, the Brazilian Guitar Quartet, Derek Trucks and others. He wrote, "The congress is being called the first of its kind, bringing together artists from an array of styles and mixing them at the performances, which are open to the public."

World Guitar Congress Set for Towson, Baltimore

Associated Press, March 4

AP writer Brian Witte noted that the June 2-9 event will assemble "guitarists from classical, jazz, country, rock, blues, flamenco and fusion styles," under the honorary presidency of Emilia Segovia, wife of the late guitarist Andres Segovia. TU's Helene Breazeale, executive director, World Music Congresses, estimated that 20,000 people would attend.
