Asia (in the Big Apple)

One-day ‘cultural excursion’ to include exhibition, art fair, dining

TU’s Asian Arts Gallery may be undergoing renovation, but that’s no reason to curb your love for all things Asian. Simply reserve your seat for the Asian Arts & Cultural Center’s March 27 motor-coach trip to New York City and treat yourself to a day of discovery—and enchantment.

The Asian Art in New York itinerary includes a guided viewing of the Asia Society exhibition, Golden Fantasies: Japanese Screens from New York Collections, rare and ancient artifacts and contemporary art at the 13th annual Arts of Pacific Asia Show and authentic Asian cuisines at a superb buffet restaurant.

“Our cultural excursion offers people an opportunity to enjoy a special experience with others who share their interests,” says Director Suewhei Shieh. “It’s a great way to stay in touch with Asian art and culture while our gallery is closed.

“The registration deadline is March 10, but please don’t wait,” she adds. “We have a very limited number of seats, and they’ll go quickly.”

Cost is $112 per person ($92 for Asian Arts & Cultural Center members), to include transportation, admission to the exhibition and show, and a buffet dinner. The chartered coach will leave TU at 7 a.m. and return at approximately 10 p.m.
