internships, how to get a job, how to write a paper, etc.
Below I list a series of links which address some of these
issues.
There are also links to help you navigate your
career.
If you discover some additional resources, please

 | The Academic Achievement
Center exists to help students succeed. Every semester
there are a series
of workshops that will
give you advice on such topics as approaches to learning, time
management, how to study for math and science, preparation for
finals, etc. They are a wonderful resource--if you use them!

 | The World Resources Institute has developed EarthTrends,
http://earthtrends.wri.org,
which is intended to serve as an Environmental Information Portal.
It provides access to over 600 environmentally relevant databases,
data tables, maps, etc.

 | Environmental Employment Network -- a
listing of websites maintained by different organizations all
relating to employment in the environmental field.

 | Graduate Programs -- a listing
of websites which takes you to graduate programs with different
areas of focus.

 | Job Tips -- finding a position presents
a series of challenges. This material provides guidance on how
to approach different components of the task.

 | Writing Help -- since students
come into the environmental field from a range of disciplines, there
is often confusion regarding writing style. This material
provides you with some links and some style information.

If you missed the spring 2004 conference there is a video tape that you can watch is
available at the Media Services Center, Cook 202. The order

Center for graduate students has been set up to assist with
formal writing and research design and statistics. Four tutors
are available in afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays,
making it easier to students to meet with them |
