Brian Plow

Brian Plow received his MFA from Ohio University, and has been an Assistant Professor of Electronic Media and Film since 2005. His work as a director and cinematographer has screened at the Rochester International Film Festival, DC Independent Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival and the NYC Horror Film Festival – among others in the United States and Europe. Mr. Plow’s cinematography was recognized in 2003 for The Sorrows of Youth with a nomination for the Gerald Hirschfeld A.S.C. Award and again in 2004 for Waterlilies with an Honorable Mention awarded in the American Society of Cinematographer’s Conrad Hall Heritage Award competition. He also garnered cinematography credits in 2004 for Stephen King’s The Road Virus Heads North and Early Morning Monsters, both nominated for Student Academy Awards in the Midwest Region.

At Towson, Mr. Plow teaches narrative filmmaking at the intermediate and advanced levels, and has co-authored a Film and Video Lighting course and a new introductory production course with an integrated emphasis in film, video and digital media production.

Current projects include Home, a documentary dealing with urban issues in York, Pennsylvania; and The Willing, a long-form narrative collaboration with StringThink, an experimental think tank, focusing on collaborative storytelling and integrated methods of narrative delivery.
