Peter Lev

Peter Lev is Professor of Electronic Media and Film at Towson University. In 2009 he received the Academy Scholars Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science and the Jim Welsh Award for Excellence in Adaptation Studies from the Literature/Film Association. He is the author or editor of five books of film history and criticism, most recently The Literature/Film Reader (Scarecrow Press, 2007) and Transforming the Screen: The Fifties, History of the American Cinema series vol.7 (paperback from University of California Press, 2006; hardback from Scribner’s, 2003). He teaches a variety of EMF and Cultural Studies courses, including History of Film: Aesthetics of Film and Electronic Media; Principles of Film and Media Production; International Cinema; Visual Culture; and Performance Culture. Dr. Lev has delivered conference papers in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Bath (UK), Leicester (UK), Ottawa, Montreal, and Vancouver, plus thirty more in the United States
