The Department of Electronic Media and Film offers students a strong liberal arts education and professional training. Students are encouraged to develop and refine their visual, writing and technical skills and to cultivate critical thinking abilities in all courses. The curriculum balances a foundation in theory and writing with courses of applied study. The program is designed to prepare qualified individuals for careers in film, television, video and radio, as well as graduate study in related fields.
The department offers the undergraduate major in electronic media and film leading to the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
Students interested in the major should contact the department to be assigned an adviser to assist them in designing a program to meet their individual needs. Students meet with their advisers each term to discuss their program and for assistance in making any necessary changes in their course of study.
