Mr. Thomas is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. He received his MFA in dance
from Florida State University and a BME in Music from the University of South
Carolina. Prior to pursuing his graduate degree at FSU, he taught music in Columbia,
SC, and danced with Dancework Jazz Company, serving as principal dancer and
Associate Director. He was a scholarship student and staff assistant for the
American Dance Festival (1995-97), and returned to ADF (1999) to assist teaching
the Community Crossover class. He has danced with Dance Repertory Theatre (FSU),
Randy James Dance Works (NJ/NY), Liz Lerman Dance Exchange (MD), and as a guest
performer with EDGEWORKS Dance Theatre (DC). Vincent’s choreography has
been presented at Piccolo Spoleto (SC), Diverse Works (TX), Flynn Performance
Space (VT), Contemporary Arts Center (LA), Music Hall (MI), Dance Place (DC),
Church Street Theatre (DC), Spiral Flight Center for Yoga and the Arts (DC),
Jack Guidone Theatre at Joy of Motion (DC), Lisner Auditorium (DC), and the
National Museum of Women in the Arts (DC). He presented his solo “Prelude/Frustration
in a Martini” at the Maryland Arts and Cultural Heritage Division 2003
Twentieth Annual Choreographers’ Showcase, a gala concert of dances selected
for their choreographic excellence by a panel of nationally recognized adjudicators,
at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (MD). He has been on faculty at
McLean High School (VA), George Mason University (VA) and is presently at Towson
University (MD) s a Visiting Guest Artist and Assistant Professor. He is also
actively involved with color guards and marching bands from across the country
as a clinician, designer, and chorographer. In the year 2004
