Paul Shapanus earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Design and Production from Towson University in 1995. Paul’s career spans a wide range of production management, technical direction and scenic and lighting design services for theatre, dance and opera. Freelance clients include Baltimore Opera Company, Center Stage First Night Annapolis, Young Victorian Theatre Company, Maryland Arts Festival and The Peabody Conservatory of Music.
Paul has also worked extensively in the academic theatre programs of The Boys’
Latin School of Maryland, The McDonogh School; and recently completed a three-year
scenic design residency for the St. Paul’s Schools.
Since 1997 Paul has served as the Technical Director for Stephens Hall Theatre
at Towson University, and in 1999 was hired as adjunct faculty by the Department
of Dance to teach design and production curriculum for dance majors
