Dana Martin received her MA in Dance Education from New York University. For
the next ten years, Dana studied and performed in New York with The Consort
Dance Ensemble, Leon Felder, Haynes Owens, Marjorie Mussman, Emily Frankel,
Miller Dance Company, Frank Ashley Dance Company, Marcus Shulkind and Gus Solomons
Jr. Since moving to Baltimore, Dana has performed with The Naked Feet Dance
Company, The Forrest Collection, Towson Ensemble Dancers, Scott Rink and Friends,
Susan Mann, Vincent Thomas and the LOVE Project and is currently a performer
and choreographer for Nancy Romita and The Moving Company. She has choreographed
numerous works performed locally by The Towson Ensemble Dancers, The Moving
Company, Oldfields School Dance Company, and Towson University’s CDD Troupe.
Dana collaborated with David Miller to create several duets that they have performed
at Towson University, Theater Project and the Baltimore Museum of Art. She has
four times been selected by the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Art and
Culture for the Maryland Dance Showcase workshop for Choreographers.
Dana is also the Director of Upper School Dance at Roland Park Country
School where she teaches Studio Dance classes, is the Artistic Director
of the Roses Repertory Dance Ensemble, The Junior Dance Company
and produces the Annual US Dance Concert. Dana is the choreographer for the
Upper School musicals including Once Upon a Mattress, Allegro, Annie Get
Your Gun, Two Gentlemen of Verona and Can Can. In addition Dana
teaches Ballet and Modern dance at the Nicole Gait Center for Performing Arts,
the Towson University Children’s Dance Division summer camp and guest
teaches at schools and studios in the Baltimore, DC area. She is a devoted
practitioner of Bikram Yoga.
