If you are interested in developing artistically and physically as a dancer, read further about Towson University's dance program.

Here, as an undergraduate dance student, you can develop your ballet and modern technique, study jazz and tap, choreograph, perform, explore the
scientific, philosophical and historical foundations of dance, and as an option, develop knowledge and skills in teaching dance in a
public school setting.

You also have the opportunity to experiment, explore, succeed, fail, and try again. The dance program is designed to produce intelligent,
knowledgeable and highly skilled performers of all styles of dance.

More than 90 students major in Dance Performance each year. More than 600 students participate in dance courses each semester. Some courses are closed to non-majors. The Department of Dance is in the College of Fine Arts and Communication along with the Departments of Art,
Electronic Media and Film, Mass Communication and Communication Studies, Music, and Theatre Arts. We have good working relationships with each of these departments and interdisciplinary study is available. We do
not have a dance minor.
