Annual Report 2002-2003
I. Summary
of the year’s Activities:
The Committee continued to review, change, and approve new
undergraduate programs, and to coordinate the work of its
subcommittees. In September 2002 it held a Curriculum Forum for college
curriculum chairs and other interested faculty members to review
curriculum policies and procedures.

Approved a revision of the American Studies “Track” (IDIS).
b.
Approved a new minor in American Studies.
c.
Approved the report of the Syllabus sub-committee.
d.
Approved the change in the Psychology major
e.
Approved changes in the Sociology-Anthropology and Psychology
Double Major.
f.
Approved a change in the e-Business program.
g.
Approved a change in the requirements for the Economics
Major.
h.
Disbanded the E-Education sub committee.
i.
Supported the 3+2 Towson-Tasmania program.
j.
Approved changes in the IDIS programs in Comparative Ethnic
Studies, Classical Studies, and Asian Studies.
k.
Approved a revised proposal for a double major in e-Business
and Computer Information Systems.
l.
Approved a revised Psychology minor.
m.
Approved Gerontology minor.
n.
Approved a Sport Studies Major—Sport and Humanities Track.
o.
Approved a revised Chemistry major.
p.
Approved the revised Speech Language Pathology and Audiology
program.
q.
Approved changes in the Music History/Literature, Voice
Performance, Guitar, Jazz Commercial Performance, Jazz Commercial
Composition and Composition concentrations.
r.
Approved a Long Term Care track in the Health Care
Management/ Program.
s.
Approved changes in the Deaf Studies program.
t.
Approved a change in the Latin American Studies program.
u.
Approved a double major in e-Business and Business
Administration/Marketing.
v.
Approved the addition of 2 courses to the Medieval and
Renaissance Studies program.
w.
Approved a name change in Electronic Media and Film to
Television/Video; approved a change in the EMF Theory and Criticism
track; and approved an EMF certificate proposal.
x.
Approved a Biology major revision proposal.
y.
Approved courses changes for the B.S. in Music Education:
Vocal General; B. S. in
Music Education: Instrumental;
Bachelor of Music: Jazz Commercial Composition Concentration;
Bachelor of Music: Jazz/ Commercial Performance Concentration; and
Bachelor of Music: Wind Strings Percussion Performance Concentration.

Approved a 3+2 program between Towson University and the
University of Exeter (UK).
aa.
Approved a course change in the Occupation Therapy and
Occupational Science
II.
Policy Changes:
No substantive policy changes were
made.
III.
Pending Work:
Several programs which were
incomplete or needed work will probably be resubmitted in the coming
year.
IV.
Problems needing the attention of the Committee or the
University Senate:
None.
The University Senate requested the Committee to review its
membership and responsibilities.
The Committee submitted its report to the Senate Executive
Committee.
