I.
Summary of the year’s activities
The Committee continued to review, change, and approve new
undergraduate programs, and to coordinate the work of its
subcommittees.
a.
Approved the change in the Common Core of the Anthropology
and Sociology Concentrations.
b.
Approved the name change of the Interdisciplinary Studies
program from “African-American Studies” to “African and
African American Studies.”
c.
Approved a change in the Interdisciplinary Studies program for
the Individually Designed Thematic Option.
d.
Approved a change in the Criminal Justice program.
e.
Approved the Blended Elementary Education-Special Education
Major.
f.
Approved a change in the Theatre major.
g.
Approved a change in the Actuarial Science and Risk
Management Concentration.
h.
Approved a change in the Political Science program.
i.
Approved a change in the Marketing Certificate for Mass
Communications.
j.
Approved a change in the Mathematics Concentration.
k. Approved a change in the Dance
program.
l.
Approved a new track to the International Studies major in
International Development.
m.
Approved changes in the Radio Track and the Television Track
of Electronic Media and Film.
n.
Approved changes in the Computer Information Systems program.
o.
Approved changes in the Computer Science and the double major
in Computer Science and Mathematics.
p.
Approved changes in the Accounting core.
q.
Approved changes in the E-business major.
r.
Approved and forwarded to the University Senate a report on
E-education at Towson.
s.
Approved the Computer Security Track in the Computer Science
major.
t.
Approved a minor in Family Studies.
u.
Approved a proposed Bachelor of Science in Forensic
Chemistry.
v.
Approved changes in the Chemistry major.
w. Approved changes in the
Environmental Science and Studies program.
x.
Approved a new curriculum process flow chart to be inserted
into the “Curriculum Process at Towson University” document.
II.
Policy Changes
The Committee did send a document on E education to the
University Senate and it prepared a report on course syllabi for use
with new faculty and departments.
III.
Pending Work
To help college curriculum committees and faculty preparing
new programs a meeting will be held on September 30th for
all administrators and faculty.
This meeting will deal with the procedures and processes of
program and course approvals.
