The founders of switchtextbooks.com, a local Towson-based company, recently bought RateMyProfessors.com.  (You might have read the recent article in the Towerlight about this - one of the founders is a former TU student.)  They are seeking full-time or part-time programmers for immediate employment.  They would prefer someone who graduates Dec 05 or will graduate in May 06.  They place a great emphasis on creativity and willingness to work hard - they plan to greatly expand the services provided by RateMyProfessors.com in the very near future.  Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, creative, communicative (fluent in English), friendly, and team-oriented. 

 

Tasks for an employee would include:

  - Refactor current code (add new features, etc.)

  - Organize technical specifications

  - Conduct beta testing and "bug" finding, and develop creative solutions to problems

  - Conduct strategic planning

                     

Desired technical skills include:

  - Strong understanding of Java and JSP (a MUST!)

  - Experience with Ant, SQL, HTML, JDBC, MySQL, Tomcat, Apache, Linux
