Dear C.L.,
You won our hearts at age 2 with your drum and harmonica performances on the hearth, amazed us with your determination to play the piano before you could read, and delighted us as we watched you expand your talents through the years both on and off the stage.  Today as we listen (not without criticisms!) to your music, we are once again captivated by the depth of your talent.  We may not understand all the technicalities behind the composition, but the heart and soul of your music comes through loud and clear.  We can't wait to hear some of the choral pieces!

Love,
Mom & Dad

"Congratulations on your two wonderful compositions presented last night ("As Yet Unknown. . ." and "The Land of Nod").  I enjoyed them very much.  You are quite a talent.

Dear Craig,

Congratulations on the performance of your piece African Fanfare on the April 20, 1999 concert of the 20th Century Music Festival. [. . .]

[. . .] You now have broadened your perspective of all the elements that are integral to the production of a concert.  You demonstrated a high degree of professionalism throughout the process, for which I commend you.

Thank you for your willingness to work on this project.  I look forward to great things from you as you progress in your career. [. . .]

Sincerely,
Dr. Dana Rothlisberger
Director of Bands"

Craig,

Congratulations on the successful presentation of your recital.  I think
it came off well, at least as it sounded through buffered play on my
computer's speakers.  I especially liked "Sacred Beauty,"  I dare say
that is the most daring and mature work I have heard from you.

I admire the dedication and enthusiasm with which you approach your
composing and performing.  I look forward to following your career and
seeing your style develop further.  Keep in touch, perhaps our paths
will once again cross, hopefully on a concert program somewhere.

All the best,
Alex Abele

Craig,

I was very impressed with your recital on Saturday.  Overall, the
demonstration of your gift of writing was amazing.  I enjoy listening to and
playing your music.  I honestly have to say that it was one of the best
recitals I have seen here at Towson.  I thank you very much for asking me to
play with the trio.  I found it to be a very rewarding musical experience.
