The New Music Ensemble at Towson University

The hiatus we took to rebuild our endowment has been successful and, while still regaining its health from before 2008, we had funding to start up again in 2013.

The New Music  Ensemble at Towson presented two concert events in early 2013. On Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 8:15 PM in the Center for the Arts Recital Hall, the NME presented pianist Eliza Garth performing the full set of John Cage's Sonatas and Interludes for prepared piano.

On Wednesday  April 17, 2013 at 8:15 PM in the Center for the Arts Recital Hall,  the New Music Ensemble presented Washington, DC's VERGE ensemble performing Augusta Read Thomas' Bells Ring Summer for solo cello, Aaron Jay Kernis' Air for flute and piano, Timothy Harenda's Three Ancient Rituals for flute, violin, percussion and piano, Dan Welcher's Spirit Realms for flute and percussion, and 2012 Pulitzer PRize finalist Andrew Norman's The Companion Guide to Rome for string trio

The VERGE Ensemble featured the following performers, David Whiteside, flute, Lura Johnson, piano, Barry Dove, percussion, Jonathan Richards, violin, James Stern, viola, and Steve Honigberg, cello.
