The
New
Music Ensemble
at Towson University
During
2008-2009, the
Ensemble
presented two concerts:
October
29, 2008,
and April 29th, 2009 in the Center
for the Arts Recital Hall at Towson University.

The
Ensemble's October 29th concert featured music from three
west-coast composers and a Pulitzer Prize winning composition by Donald
Martino.

Cindy
Cox's Axis
Mundi for
amplified
flute, bass clarinet, violin, cello, percussion, and piano

Bonnie
Miksch's Inklings
on the
Loose for
flute and computer-realized recording
Samuel
Nichols Axis
for
six instruments

Donald
Martino's Notturno,
which
was awarded the Pulitzer Prize the year after its composition in
1974.

April 29th concert
featured
Triple
Duo by Elliott Carter,
in celebration of his centenary. Also on the concert were Kaija
Saariaho's Six Japanese
Gardens,
and ...the serpent-snapping eye
by Roger
Reynolds.
