Kyle Vinton was born on December 12, 1987 in Parkton, Maryland. He is a fourth year student at Towson University pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition under the direction of William Kleinsasser. He is also studying improvisatory trumpet with David Ballou, live electronics with Christopher Ariza, and aesthetics with Gerald Phillips. In 2007 he was awarded a talent scholarship from the Towson University Music Department for his composition Tetsuo [because we have already begun]. Kyle was also the 2008 recipient of the George P. Schott Three Arts Club Award, the Carl B. Schmidt Term Paper Award, and an Undergraduate Research Grant from Towson University. In 2009 he received the Franklin & Alice Cooley Arts Scholarship in addition to being a Fulbright finalist. Kyle is an active member of both the Improvisation and New Interface in Music ensembles of Towson.
