Joshua
Penrose, a native of Columbus, Ohio, began studying piano at the age of
5. He also studied percussion, which he continued at The Ohio
State University, studying with Michael Bump and Grant Dalton. He
graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition, studying with
John Proodian and Thomas Wells. Mr. Penrose served in the U.S.
Navy for 4 years as a linguist in California, Texas, and
Maryland. He graduated (with honors) with a MM degree from the composition program
at Towson University, having studied with William Kleinsasser.
