Aaron Jay Myers
Aaron Jay Myers (b. 1979) is a composer and improviser. He has studied composition and contemporary music with William Kleinsasser, as well as composition and improvisation with Dave Ballou. Over the past sixteen years, he has performed many different kinds of music in solo and group situations including chamber music, hardcore punk, flamenco, Latin-jazz, new music, and free improvisation. He has been giving private guitar and music theory lessons for over seven years, and several of his long-time students have recently begun college as music majors in the Fall semesters of 2008 and 2009. As a composer, he has composed many diverse chamber works as well as music for dance and short films. Myers has his BM in composition from Towson University and will begin the MM in composition degree program at The Boston Conservatory in Fall of 2009.
