Commencement

Tickets, Name Cards, Programs and Diplomas

Commencement Tickets

Each graduate who participates in the Commencement exercises will receive 6 tickets.

You must be a participant in the ceremony to obtain tickets.

You'll receive your tickets in your Commencement Instruction packet when you pick up your cap and gown at the University Store, or when you receive your cap and gown in the mail. Cap and gowns must be ordered by November 13, 2009 in order to guarantee 6 guest tickets to the ceremony. Requests for up to three additional Commencement tickets will be processed December 7-11, 2009 in the University Store during cap and gown pick-up. Additional ticket requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

All guests entering the arena will need a ticket. This includes children of all ages. Any seating that is being held/reserved in the arena must be released 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony to seat other guests.

For more information about tickets, call the University Store, 410-704-2665.

Name Cards

An index card printed with your name and address will be given to you with your Commencement tickets. If the address on the front of the card is incorrect, please make changes on the reverse of the card, and undergraduates should be sure to correct their address immediately in their Student Center at http://sa/selfservices and click > online services. Graduate candidates, please e-mail address changes to mjacque@towson.edu.

Please bring this card with you to Commencement exercises. You will hand the card to the reader as you cross the stage.

Commencement Programs

Programs will be distributed to participants free of charge at the ceremony. The Commencement Program recognizes each graduate, listing each degree recipient by degree, department and date.

Diplomas

Diplomas are not distributed during the Commencement ceremony.

  • Diplomas for baccalaureate degree candidates will be mailed to the permanent home address. If your address has changed and you are a baccalaureate degree candidate, please change your permanent address online through the Student Center.  For last minute changes, please notify the Graduation Office in Enrollment Services (410-704-2095) as soon as possible.
  • Diplomas for graduate degree candidates will be mailed to the primary address listed in the system unless the address form submitted to the Graduate School lists a different address.  This form will be mailed with additional information soon.
