Minutes from General Meeting,
Tuesday, March 27, 2007
Location: Chesapeake II
The meeting started at 5pm.
7 people attended
The entire executive board was present.
Our advisor was present
President, Brian Ward announced:
-Darfur Awareness Day is tomorrow. We will be tabling 10-3 under the
Lecture Hall. There will also be a lot of events about this issue.
-Three of us went canvassing and got seventeen people to call. Our
total number of calls is 78. The session ends soon. O'Malley said he
would sign the bill.
-We will be canvassing
-Elections are April 24 and every position is open. Please tell Brian
by April 21st what you want to run for.
Vice President, Paul Day announced:
-It is crucial we are active with Health Care for All to pass the
bill. We will be canvassing and doing lit drops until the end of the
session. We need your help! This is helpful to help pass legislation.
- The media may come canvassing with us one day. Having a good turnout
is crucial to impress the media.
Treasurer, Bryon Burzynski announced:
-We need at least 10 people for concession stands on Saturday April 14
and April 28
-Bake sale 10-4 April 3 on the first floor on the Union. We will have
a chocolate fountain.
- We are trying to get supplemental for Al Gore at UMBC!
- We are getting a bus to go to DC.
Director of Media Relations, Sean Lawlor announced:
-Towson Progressive
Director of Events, Lauren McDade announced:
-We are going to Annapolis
-May 11, Concert for Democracy 7-11. We will have speakers and fun
bands!
Director of Campaigns, Matt Bohle announced:
-We will register people to vote Thursday.
-Thanks for coming to the Unity Party
-Ryan Coleman will speak and we are going to have action with his
campaign.
Director of Internet Communications, Rachel Alexander announced:
-Created event for bake sale on facebook
Director of Political Organizing, Alicia Schuller announced:
-Student Ambassador updates
QSU: you need to buy tickets in advance for the Drag Show which
is
being held on April 4th at 7:30
MSL: Annual Session is April 27th-29th. Sign up date ends this

TEA: currently working on a project called "Conservation
Challenge".
The event will be kick off with speaker Mike Tidwell on April 9and
will last till the 27th of April.
BSU: recently set up a tutoring program
Tabling 10-3 Next Monday!!!!!!
-Discussion: Ground Rents in Baltimore which led to a conversation
about development and the economy versus the environment and
preservation.
The meeting was adjourned at 6pm. The next meeting is scheduled for
April 3, 2007.
