The College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) encourages students to develop their creative and analytical abilities, tailored to their aspirations, by encouraging dialogue, inspiration, passion and beauty. These attributes are fostered through a broad liberal arts education and specialized professional training.

Our six departments—Art + Design, Art History, Art Education, Dance, Electronic Media and Film, Mass Communication and Communication Studies, Music and Theatre Arts—offer a wide range of majors and concentrations. In addition to programs of study for our majors and minors, we also offer all TU students the opportunity to participate in an exciting variety of academic and artistic experiences.

Facilities in the College of Fine Arts and Communication are designed with an emphasis on the teaching and learning environment.

The Jim Paulsen Alumni Sculpture Exhibition, which ran 2/17 – 3/31 in the Center for the Arts Gallery, was striking. Paulsen chose to showcase the work of his alums, rather than mount a personal career retrospective. To hear him tell it, “If you have a party and you invite people who can cook, then you have a great party. So you invite people who can cook great art, you have a great party. These are my friends. And they make solid art.” (Miri Rotkovitz)
