The College of Fine Arts and Communication offers undergraduate and graduate programs in art, dance, electronic media and film, mass communication and communication studies, music, and theatre arts. Students develop their creative and analytical abilities through a broad liberal education and specialized professional training. The college also offers international exchange programs at schools in China, Germany, Ireland, Korea, Russia, Italy and the United Kingdom. In addition we provide all TU students opportunities to participate in both academic performance and artistic experiences.

The Center for the Arts is home to the college's main office, several academic departments and facilities including the music recital hall, art galleries, studio and main theaters, dance studios, the Asian Arts & Culture Center gallery and the box office. The college's journalism laboratories, the debate and speech facility, radio-TV-film laboratories, radio station XTSR-AM, and television station WMJF-TV are located in Van Bokkelen Hall and the Media Center. Stephens Hall Theatre provides performance space for dance, opera and musicals.

Recognized as a fine arts center for Maryland, the college contributes to the cultural life of the university, Towson and Greater Baltimore through an annual program of events including art exhibits; music, theater and dance performances; films, debates, lectures and workshops; and a daily campus television show. In addition, the college offers a variety of arts-enrichment programs for children and adults through the Children's Dance Division, Community Art Center and the Maryland Performing Arts Institute.
