Performance Assessment and MSPAP Related sites

Each summer, Dr. Greg Bryant and Dr. David Vocke teach an online seminar in social studies.  Teachers from K-12 take a course on
performance assessment in social studies.  Each of the teachers develops a web site using Geocities software that includes lesson plans and a performance assessment.  The sites are
http://www.geocities.com/gwbryant_21093 and http://www.geocities.com/vocke_73

In Maryland, the social studies curriculum is based on the state performance assessment. The State Department of Education has developed a comprehensive site for MSPAP across subject areas. The site clarifies the indicators and has several examples that can be helpful to teachers designing instruction in social studies and other subject areas. The site is

Another site comes from the Caroline County (MD) Public Schools. This site is from the Center for Educational Progress and contains more than 600 performance tasks across all subject areas including social studies. Access to the site is limited by password and only available to schools within Maryland. You can find out how to request a password for your school from their homepage
