CHECKLIST OF DEGREE REQUIREMENTS FOR EESE STUDENTS MATRICULATING ON OR AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, 2006

The integrated elementary education-special education program (EESE) is a screened major.  All candidates must meet the following screening requirements:

1.  passing scores on PRAXIS I as established by MSDE

2.  a minimum of 2.75 on all prerequisite coursework required for the major

3.  the required speech and hearing screening.

Students are responsible for ensuring that they meet the prerequisite content and general education requirements of the University.  Transcripts will be evaluated for completion of required courses *.  The program is offered at Towson University (TU), Laurel College Center (LCC), and the Universities at Shady Grove (USG).  The program equals a minimum of 131 semester units of college credit.

To enter the program, students must apply by the date established and take speech and hearing screening; have a GPA of 2.75 or higher; completed ENGL 102 with a grade of 2.0 or higher; have completed 60 or more units; and have scores on the Praxis I at or above the level of standards established by the Maryland State Department of Education.
