Master of Education in Special Education

Special Education (M.Ed.) Certification Track
(36 credits)    

PREREQUISITES

  • Baccalaureate degree from accredited college or university
  • Current standard professional teaching certificate in infant/primary (birth-grade 3), elementary/middle (grades 1-8), or secondary/adult (grades 6-12+).
  • Prerequisite: completion of reading requirement for renewal of certification (ECED/ELED 12 units; SCED 6 units)

*The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) requires all applicants for state teaching certification successfully complete the PRAXIS II Exam in the Special Education Specialty (SE Knowledge - Based Core Principles-0351-score of 155+; SE Application of Core Principles-0352-score of 147+).
