Class Framework Schedule

How often classes are usually offered:

When planning your program of study, Instructional Technology students should keep in mind the  following suggestions.  Certain classes in the ISTC program are only offered once a year; other classes are offered every semester.  This page will be helpful to you when deciding which courses to register for in a given semester.  Use this guide as a general framework for course offerings.  We can not guarantee that we will always follow this framework, but we will try to adhere to the schedule.

Regularly such as Spring, Summer, and Fall Semester:

• ISTC 541 Foundations of Instructional Technology
• EDUC 605 research and Information Technology
• ISTC 667 Instructional Development
• ISTC 797 Graduate Internship in Instructional Technology (with special permit, after student writes proposal)

Fall Semester Only:

• ISTC 651 Information Literacy Access
• ISTC 601 Organization & Administration Media Center
• ISTC 615 Media Selection
• ISTC 663 Applied Psychology of Learning
• ISTC 687 Computer-Based Instruction

Spring Semester Only:

• ISTC 653 Organization of Knowledge
• ISTC 717 Distance Education in Theory & Practice
• ISTC 635 Theory & Design of Computer-Based Instruction (ISTC 689)
• ISTC 685 Research in Instructional Technology

Special Circumstances:

• ISTC 655 Media Design & Production (usually twice per year)
• ISTC 633 Instructional Video (once a year)
• ISTC 553 Instructional Photography (occasionally)
• ISTC 605 Web-Based Instruction in Education (usually once a year)
• ISTC 671 Advanced Reference (occasionally)
• ISTC 702 Educational Leadership & Technology (once a year)
• ISTC 789 Graduate Practicum in Instructional Technology- (must register six months in advance) for school library media students
