MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Learning is an energized process for all constituencies at Perry Hall Middle School. As principal, I strongly support our partnership with Towson University and the vital learning component it provides. Our Professional Development School began in the spring of 1999, one of the first middle school partnerships in Baltimore County. Since then, the collaboration has continued to offer a variety of learning experiences and measurable achievement growth to the interns, to our faculty and staff, and to our student body. As a learning community, we are committed to ensuring that our students enter the 21st century prepared to assume responsible roles in society. the Professional Development School is a vital element to that end. MISSION STATEMENT Education at Perry Hall Middle School should enhance the quality of school life of early adolescents, facilitate their successful transition from early learning years to high school learning years, and lay an important foundation for life-long learning as productive citizens of a global community. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE COLLABORATION The vitality of our three year partnership is visible among all members and institutions, students engaging in active learning, teachers participating in university sponsored professional development, university and school staff collaborating on intern progress and assessments and jointly presenting professional development, site coordinators and secondary education staff articulating about the structure and content of the PDS internship. The cohesion and unity of the university and school partnership create a solid foundation for the continued learning of all constituencies and provide a real world classroom where educators, experienced and new, can hone their skills and consistently provide quality education for all students.
