international issues, and will be held on the third of May, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM,
in the This debate, unlike the previous two, will focus on four topics, viz Immigration, Trade, War in Iraq, and Human Rights. Like always, there will also be a ten-minute question-and-answer session after each topic, so that the audience can learn more about our various viewpoints. The Libertarian Club of Baltimore will meet at the Ruxton Ridge School which is on Charles Street about one half mile south of the Beltway (on the right side going south). We can get community [involuntary] service hours for this work, which is good because we need community [involuntary] service hours to remain SGA-affiliated. Since this is happening this Saturday at 10:00 AM, we will be meeting on floor two of the University Union, nearby the info desk, at 9:45 AM.

On Wednesday, April 26th, we will not be having our regularly-scheduled
meeting. I We will begin the film at 6:30 PM. Admission will be free, and free food will also be provided. There will be an open discussion after the film. The film, directed by Ron Mann, is a historical account of the United States’ government’s war on marijuana in the 20th century. According to IMBd, “Fuelled by prejudice, hysterical propaganda and political opportunism undeterred by voices of reason on the subject, we follow the story of a costly and futile crusade against a substance with questionable ill effects that has damaged basic civil liberties.” To see our press release for this event, click here. national issues, will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The debate will be held in Susquehanna Terrace and, like the last, will be
between the Libertarians, Democrats, Republicans, and Greens. It will be
co-sponsored by the The topics for this debate are Environment and Energy, Social Security and Taxes, and topics of Domestic Security, including the USAPATRIOT Act of 2001 and Warrantless Wiretaps. There will also be a ten-minute question-and-answer session after each topic, so that the audience can learn more about our various viewpoints. On March 14th, 2006, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, we will be co-hosting a Rally for Marriage Equality in the University Union along with the Queer Student Union and the Towson Campus Greens. Harry Browne became famous in the ’70s as an investment
In the early ’90s, Mr. Browne decided to take an active role in the Libertarian movement, running for President in both 1996 and 2000. After his two campaigns, he continued giving speeches and hosting his own radio shows. He also helped co-found organizations for small government, such as DownsizeDC.org, Inc., and served as President of the Free-Market News Network, Corp. Or click here to see our flyer. 3/8/06 The Economics Society is hosting a lecture by Dr. Howard Baetjer entitled “Incentives and Institutions: The Practical Case for Free Markets and Limited Government.” This lecture will be held on Wednesday, March 8th, 2006 at 5:00 PM in Stephens Hall room 111. This lecture will contrast the incentives in market-based, civil-society institutions with those in government institutions (such as state ownership and government regulation); and will argue that the former generally lead to better social results. Howard Baetjer Jr. has been a lecturer in the Department of Economics at Towson University since the Fall of 1997. He teaches Microeconomics, Money and Banking, and Comparative Economic Systems and ranks as one of the preeminent thinkers in Austrian economics today. On March 1st, 2006, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, a Campus Political Debate between the Libertarians, Greens, Republicans, and Democrats will be held in Chesapeake I. T The three topics to be discussed are Gun Rights and Crime Control, Wal-Mart and the Healthcare Issue, and the War on Drugs and Criminal Justice. (For example, we need to get a Gaming License from the government before we can hold raffles.) So, instead of having an actual meeting, we’ve instead decided to throw a Political Pizza Party. College Democrats, College Republicans, Campus Greens, and other political parties are all welcome to attend. But please don’t fight. The pizza will be free. Team America: Everyone on campus is invited to come, so invite your friends! The movie will be free, as will the drink and snacks, and we will have an open discussion afterwards. Team America: World Police is a film made by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park. The film, a satire about the war, was made in 2004 and features marionettes.
