Minutes — Thursday, 28 September 2006 6:35 — Meeting commences. We discuss the tabling under the Lecture Hall of the previous day. On that day, Wednesday, September 27, we got ten new members to sign up for our mailing list, and in addition raised $22.25. 6:45 — We voted unanimously to use the money raised from tabling to buy some Stop The Drug War stickers, which we will then sell at future events. 6:48 — We voted unanimously to get a new URL for our website which would then hyperlink directly to wwwnew.towson.edu/clt, assuming we can get said URL for free, or for no more than five dollars per year. This URL would be provided by member Robert Sagona. 6:52 — We voted unanimously to sell Voters for Peace bumper-stickers for a dollar or two each. 6:53 — We voted unanimously to buy CLT tee shirts from member Terry Breschi. 7:00 — There was a general discussion about various topics. In addition to this discussion, Paul Kelly, President, went over some general plans for the semester (which is covered in the previous meetings minutes) and our difficulties with Events & Conference Services, the department responsible for room reservations. 7:18 — Kelly mentions that a new organization is forming on campus called Political Union. Political Union will be a non-partisan group which will meet once a month. 7:19 — Kelly discuses Voter Registration Day, which will be on October 12. It will supposedly include a debate among various campus organizations on the Speaker Circle. 7:28 — There was a discussion about the Zeese for Senate campaign. Kevin Zeese has been endorsed by the Green Party, Populist Party, and Libertarian Party. He has, however, a few very non-libertarian views. 7:31 — We voted to co-sponsor an event on campus with the Towson Campus Greens to bring Zeese to Towson University to speak with students. Three members voted to co-sponsor, two members voted against co-sponsoring, and the rest abstained from voting. 7:39 — We voted to participate in the Light the Night event being planned on campus to raise money for blood cancer. Member Dan Gerlowski wanted it noted for the record that he does not support cancer. 7:50 — We voted to switch our email service to a Yahoo! Group. We also voted to add Gerlowski’s roommate, Joe Kovacevich, to the email list against Kovacevich’s wishes. 8:03 — Meeting adjourns. |
