WEBSITE FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
A college student named Gabriela McCall Delgado, who is enrolled
at Louisiana State University would like to promote a project as
a service to all college students with disabilities. She
received a grant from YP4 to develop a website to serve college
students with disabilities in an effort to connect and integrate
students more as a virtual community with a voice on important
issues.
Here is the link of the website so that you may access it at

Self-Advocacy Volunteer Opportunity:
Consult on a Pamphlet about ASDs
with the University of Maryland
The University of Maryland Division of Community Psychiatry is
creating a new educational document about everyday strengths,
challenges, and strategies common among young adults with autism
spectrum disorders (ASDs). We will distribute this document free
of charge to families at institutions including the University
of Maryland Medical Center and Children’s National Medical
Center. We are strong supporters of the self-advocacy movement,
and believe that the experiences and opinions of young adults
with ASDs must be integral to this document.
We are seeking young adults with ASDs who are interested in
collaborating with us on this project. Contributing to this
project would involve meeting with us once in a small group,
individually, or via email to give us feedback and suggestions
on the 7-page document. With your permission, we would
acknowledge you by name on the document so that you could
include this activity on your resume.
If you are interested in joining this self-advocacy project,
please email Kelly Register-Brown, MD at
kebrown@psych.umaryland.edu for more information or download
the flyer.
