Scholarships

CBE offers a variety of scholarship opportunities, which have changed the lives of many students, leading them on successful paths to becoming leaders in the work force. CBE departments offer additional scholarship opportunities for students with specific concentrations or majors. Applications are due on Feb. 20 of each year. The following scholarships are administered by the CBE Scholarship Committee.

CBE Advisory Board Scholarship–one award

GPA of 3.0 or higher

CBE major

Preference given to those who are in need of financial support and demonstrate leadership potential

Recipient may be either part-time or full-time student

Dr. Harvey Paul Scholarship in Economicsone award
Economics student

class

Demonstrated ability

Demonstrated need


Fran Soistman and Family Endowment–one or more scholarships may be awarded pending on fund availability

Junior or senior CBE undergraduate

Accounting or Finance major

GPA of 3.25 or higher

High standard of citizenship evidenced by having given no less than 20 hours of service to the community during the calendar year prior to application year

NOTE: This award is renewable as long as candidate meets the criteria

Mary Chiswell Scholarship–one award

Sophomore/junior/senior

CBE student

Maryland resident

Based on merit and need


Northrop Grumman and Towson University Scholarship with paid internship–two awards Junior/senior CBE student

GPA of 3.2 or higher

U.S. citizen

Student must submit a 1- page essay on “how the scholarship would benefit his or her career goals” Student must also attend an interview with George Reynolds, Director of University Initiatives of Northrop Grumman

NOTE: The student awarded this scholarship MUST complete a paid summer internship with Northrop Grumman.

Sam Barone Scholarship–one award

Junior or senior standing

CBE student having a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Stephen K. Shock Memorial Scholarship–one award

Student must be majoring in a program offered in CBE

Financial need


The Aramark Facility Services Working Scholarship

Junior or senior

CBE major

Participating in a "Professional Experience"

Preference will be given to candidates working in the College's Student Center or Small Business Development Center

The Christopher Scott Stark Memorial Scholarship–one award

Incoming or returning TU students

Financial need and merit

Individual must display high moral character and personal integrity

The Jamie Hurd Scholarship

Sophomore/junior/senior

Full-time, CBE major

GPA of 2.5 or higher

The Dr. Sayeed Kayvan Memorial Scholarship

Freshman/sophomore/junior/senior

Full-time, CBE major

Upperclassmen applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in their major

Incoming freshmen: minimum SAT score of 1100

Preference will be given to those students demonstrating financial need

The Smith Sales Award

CBE student with a major or concentration in the Department of Marketing & e-Business

Eligible candidates must demonstrate customer-focused characteristics, integrity and an interest in becoming an outstanding salesperson

Tignanelli Family Scholarshipone award

Student must be majoring in a program offered in CBE

Must hold a 3.0 GPA in major


Towsontowne Business and Professional Women's Scholarshipone award

3.0 or higher cumulative QPA

Freshman/sophomore/junior/senior student in the College of Business and Economics

Continuing student

Does not have to be a United States (U.S.) citizen

Candidates must complete an essay outlining academic and career goals

Demonstration of financial need

Must have completed 60 credits in the College of Business and Economics

Applying for Scholarships

Students may apply to scholarships on this Web site through the CBE student control panel. Students with a TU user name and password must submit ALL scholarship applications electronically.  Students with user name and passwords should NOT submit applications in paper form.

Note: If a student does not hold a TU user name and password, a printable version of the CBE scholarship application may be downloaded and printed.
