Panel Discussions on Special Topics

Panel discussions on a wide range of business related topics are hosted regularly by the Center for Applied Business and Economic Research. The perspective of executives representing area businesses complement student experiences in the classroom. Previous panel discussions have addressed topics such as entrepreneurship, ethics, sales, among more. Below are upcoming events planned for Spring 2009.

About Joni Daniels
Joni Daniels has dedicated her career to helping people. Before founding her own consulting practice in 1989, she held internal positions in Training and Development and Human Resource departments in companies such as Independence Bancorp, Inc., Kulick and Soffa Industries, Inc., CIGNA Corporation, and Sun Company, providing organizational development services, leadership development seminars and coaching support at all organizational levels. Prior positions include executive recruiting and creating an Alternative Education Program in upstate New York.

Joni received her M.S. degree in Counseling and her B.A. degree in English. In addition, she holds a certificate in Organizational Development from the Philadelphia OD Network. A recognized authority in the field of professional and personal empowerment, and leadership development, Joni was an instructor for the Wharton Small Business Development Center at the University of Pennsylvania for 10 years. Her book Power Tools for Women®: Plugging Into the Essential Skills for Work and Life is in its third printing. Frequently quoted in business publications, she is a contributing writer for Baltimore Business Journal and CityBizList.

She serves on the Board of the Fuel Fund of Maryland, as an instructor in the Towson University College of Business and Economics, and is a member of the American Society of Training and Development, the Organizational Development Network, the National Speakers Association, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Baltimore Technology Council. Her clients include UNISYS, Magellan Health Systems, W.R. Grace, The Enoch Pratt Free Library, The University of Pennsylvania, The Federal Executive Board, and the United Way.
