The Associate competition
CBE hosts a season of The Associate competition, the University's adaptation of the NBC hit series The Apprentice, each spring term. The competition provides students with a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show their business acumen, while learning invaluable lessons from successful business leaders.
Throughout the course of the competition, area companies present cases to eight graduating seniors, who split into two teams. Student projects have included planning round table events, organizing the consolidations of office space and overseeing the development of a marketing plan. Participating companies have included 1st Mariner Bancorp, Bank of America, UBS Financial Services, Black & Decker, Hale Properties, Sherwin Williams, Girls Life, Laureate Education, MGH, Merritt Athletic Club, Weber Shandwick, Miles & Stockbridge, Gevity, and Apogee Designs. One candidate is let go from the competition on a weekly basis until the final boardroom session when "The Associate" is named.
The deadline to apply for the Associate has passed. Check back in mid-February to see the list of who made the cut to be in this year's Associate competition!
