165 students throughout the school year. CRS is always looking for

Assistantships
Adventure
Pursuits Challenge Course Graduate Assistant
The Challenge Course GA will be managing
the operation of the Adventure Pursuits Challenge Course including,
but not limited to: marketing, event scheduling, course maintenance,
staffing, and risk management. The GA will develop and maintain
operational procedures and policies for the Challenge Course,
manage all Challenge Course activities, plan and oversee all
Challenge Course
special events, and supervise Challenge Course student staff.
Intramural
Sports and Special Events Graduate Assistant
The Graduate Assistant will assist in the day-to-day operation
of the Intramural Sports program, including but not limited to:
marketing, scheduling, roster
management,
and risk
management.
He / she will be responsible for marketing and promoting Intramural Sports & Special
Events.
Assist with marketing for all CRS programs, as needed, including the CRS brochure.

Adventure Pursuits Supervisor
AP supervisors assist with the administration of all Adventure Pursuits
programs and
special events. Successful applicants must be highly organized and able
to work in an
ever changing, dynamic environment. Previous office experience and
experience in
outdoor programming preferred. Ability to use MS Office is a must!
Building Manager
Building managers oversee Burdick Hall and act as a liaison for all of
the departments
within the facility. Building managers are responsible for opening and
closing the facility,
supervising Informal Recreation activities, and maintaining general
security and
appearance for the building.
Challenge Course Facilitator
Challenge Course Facilitators will be responsible for supervising groups on the
challenge course and providing experiential learning experiences. Qualified candidates
should have interest in the outdoors, low ropes courses, and working with dynamic
populations. Experience with outdoor education is a plus, but not required.
Challenge Course Supervisor
The supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the course and training all student
facilitators. Challenge Course supervisors must be a trained facilitator interested in
assisting with the hiring and supervising facilitators and occassionally facilitating a
program. Other responsibilities include planning Glen Beautification Days.
Climbing Gym Clinic Instructor
Climbing experience is required. Clinic Instructors teach
participants various climbing
skills to further a participant’s knowledge of the sport. Possible
clinic topics include top-
rope belaying and lead climbing.
Climbing Gym Floor Staff
Qualified applicants should have an interest in climbing, a great
attitude, and a
willingness to learn. Some climbing experience is helpful but not
required.
Responsibilities include belaying climbers, checking climbers in and out
of the gym,
safety inspections, and cleaning.
Climbing Gym Supervisor
The Climbing Gym Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of
The
Peregrine’s Nest Climbing Gym. Supervisors manage floor staff, walk
around and talk to
participants, create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and occasionally
belay. Other
responsibilities include belay tests and safety inspections.
Climbing Gym Route Setter
Climbing experience is required. Responsibilities include route setting,
hold cleaning,
wall maintenance, and safety inspections.
Fitness Floor Staff
Fitness Floor Staff supervise weight room and cardio activity
in the C.R.i.B. Fitness
Center. Responsibilities include demonstrations on proper weight training
technique,
cleaning duties, customer service, and enforcement of all fitness center
rules and
regulations. Prior fitness experience is helpful but not necessary.
Staff must attend
monthly training and continuing education sessions.
Group Exercise Instructor (Certified / Non-Cerftified)
Lead a variety of classes and help others have fun while exercising!
Potential instructors
audition during the spring semester and undergo a 10-week training the
following fall in
which they will learn how to teach cardio, toning, pilates, and yoga
classes. Prior
experience is helpful but not necessary.
Intramural
Sports Official
Officials are hired for team sports to include basketball, flag football,
softball,
outdoor soccer, indoor soccer, indoor volleyball, and indoor lacrosse. No
experience is
necessary! Clinics will be offered to teach proper techniques and
mechanics for all
sports.
Intramural Sports Program
Assistant
Program Assistant positions to assist with several
aspects of game operations
including score keeping, set-up and take-down, safety procedures, and I.D. collection.
No
experience is necessary, but a knowledge of sports and/or officiating is
preferred.
Intramural Sports Supervisor
Intramural Sports Supervisors assist with the administration of the
Intramural Sports
program and special events. Successful applicants must be highly
organized and able to
work in an ever changing, dynamic environment. Previous office and sport
programming
experience preferred.
Lifeguards
Lifeguards are hired for the pool in Burdick Hall. Lifeguards must have
current
certifications to include lifeguard training, First Aid, and CPR for the
professional rescuer.
Outdoor Trip Center Supervisor
This position is responsible for management of the Outdoor Equipment
Rental Program
and the Bouldering Gym. Qualified applicants should have some experience
camping
and/or climbing, with a general knowledge of outdoor equipment.
Outdoor Trips Manager
The Outdoor Trips Manager is in charge of managing the Outdoor Trips programs and
working with multiple program areas within the department. They supervise staff from all
Adventure Pursuits program areas and assist in the hiring, training, and evaluating of all
Outdoor Trip Leaders. Managers are highly involved in scheduling and facilitating Outdoor
Trip Leader trainings.
Outdoor Trip Leader
Are you the adventurous type? Trip leaders are trained in a variety of
outdoor activities
and spend their first year training to run professionally guided outdoor
trips. If you are a
freshman or sophomore, this is a great opportunity to do a ton of fun
things with a great
group of fellow students. No experience necessary, but you must have an
adventurous
attitude.
Personal Trainer
Work one-one-one with clients to develop personalized fitness
programs including
cardiovascular and strength training. Perform fitness assessments and
orientations to
the equipment in the C.R.i.B. Fitness Center. All personal trainers must
attend training
sessions to expand their knowledge base. Qualified applicants must be
nationally
certified or planning to become certified within 6 months of hiring.
Recreation Office Assistant
Make their day! Assistants are hired to provide customer
service support for the CRS
Main Office. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations, customer service,
administrative duties, and special projects as assigned.
RECy (Facility Staff/I.D. Checkers
Recreation Environment Controllers (RECys) are front-line
staff for CRS facilities and
activities. Major responsibilities include assisting in opening and
closing Informal
Recreation activities, checking identification, providing information to
participants, and
enforcing CRS regulations and policies.
Sport Clubs Supervisor
This position is responsible for assisting sport club officers
with planning, paperwork,
and overall administration of the Sport Clubs program and special events.
Supervisors
are also assigned individual areas such as financial planning,
transportation, facility
scheduling, marketing, and promotions. Supervisors are responsible for
leading weekly
program meetings and workshops.
