Audiology Doctoral Program
Au.D. Program for Students with Bachelor's Degrees in Other Fields
| |
 |
| |
Au.D. students attend the American Academy of Audiology Conference. |
The 5-year program consists of the traditional Au.D. program with the addition of a pre-Au.D. year at the beginning of the program. The pre-Au.D. year (Year 1 of the 5-year program) will allow for the completion of prerequisite courses for students with a bachelor's degree in a discipline other than Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). Students who successfully complete the first year of the 5-year program with a GPA of 3.5 or better will be enrolled in the standard Au.D. program.
Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements can apply to our undergraduate Second Bachelor's Degree Program.
The pre-Au.D. year includes 24 units of SPPA course work. In addition, students must have completed 3 of the following courses before entering the program: Life Science (3-4), Behavioral Statistics (3-4), Physical Science (3-4), Basic Mathematics (3) and Social Science (3). Students must finish any missing courses as part of the degree program. Students who have completed most of the SPPA prerequisite course work are eligible to apply for the traditional 4-year program and may enter the 4-year program with up to 3 missing courses, which can be taken concurrently with the Au.D. courses.
