Students automatically receive space for Web pages as part of their general computing account.
Students can publish Web pages on the Tiger server. Web pages can be published using Microsoft FrontPage. Instructions are available below.
Students can also place Web files created in other programs in the "WWW" folder in their Tiger account. Dreamweaver, Notepad/text editors and Netscape Composer can be used to create Web pages, and using OpenWebmail or an FTP program, the Web pages can be copied into the Tiger account. OTS Training offers guides to using Dreamweaver and FrontPage to publish sites to Tiger accounts.
Training sessions for publishing web pages are available through OTS Training.
By default, the Web addresses (URLs, or Uniform Resource Locators) are http://tiger.towson.edu/~username, where username is the username of the student.
Students experiencing difficulties viewing their Web pages can click below for troubleshooting information, or call 410-704-5151 or e-mail scs@towson.edu.
Be sure to follow all university Web hosting guidelines.
Some students may wish to use CGI in their Web pages. Instructions for using CGI are available here.
