TU Wireless Network

Using Wireless 

TU Wireless Network consists of two networks: a guest network, known as TowsonUguest, and a secure network, known as TowsonUwireless.

TowsonUwireless offers the most security for faculty, staff and students. Read on to learn about requirements, getting started instructions, connection speeds, troubleshooting tips and more!

Requirements

Laptops or PDAs used with the TU Wireless Network must be PEAP compliant.

Most laptops and PDAs come with a wireless networking card preinstalled. If not, you will need to purchase and install one yourself. Contact your laptop or PDA's manufacturer if you are unsure whether or not your device meets the above requirements.


Access Instructions

TU Wireless Network is composed of two networks: a guest network, known as TowsonUguest, and a secure network, known as TowsonUwireless.

TowsonUwireless access gives you more security and accessibility to other resources, such as H: (homeshare) and O: (deptshare) drives. TowsonUwirless is available to all Faculty, Staff and Students.

Guest access on the TowsonUGuest network will provide guest to the Towson campus easy internet access.

 


 

PDAs

At this time users with PDAs can only access wireless through Guest Access; configuration for the other levels of access will be supported in the future.

 


 

Coverage

TU Wireless Network spans the Towson University campus and TU Manage Residence Halls, some obscure outdoor areas are not covered.
