The Basics of Instructional Design

These five lessons will get you started through an introduction to a systematic approach to designing instruction along with some of the key elements of identifying what students are to learn, sequencing the learning to build on skills, and writing and matching of ability-based objectives and assessments. 

 


Provides an overview of the systematic design process and the essential stages.

Teaches the components of writing ability statements which serve as the foundation for sequencing instruction and writing ability-based objectives.

Gives guidance on sequencing instruction to build on and reinforce knowledge and skills already learned.


Includes the components and provides examples for writing formal and informal ability-based objectives.

Provides ways to make sure student tests match learning objectives.
