As an educator, there are compelling reasons to comply with copyright.  It is established by law nationally and internationally.

Respect for copyrights may impact future creative development and protection of intellectual property (including your own!). It's a matter of personal ethics. It's a demonstration of respect for the work of your peers and colleagues and the expectation that they will respect your work in turn. Your actions provide social modeling for your students. You will avoid potential embarrassment, legal action and expense.
