Bursar's Office

Payment Options

Payment of your bill can be made by check or money order payable to Towson University for the exact amount of the charges. Please include your TU ID number on the front of the check. A $50 fee is assessed for any check returned by the bank.  You may also pay using Discover, MasterCard or Visa. Towson University accepts cash payments in person at the Bursar’s Office, Enrollment Service Center, room 336.

Mail-In Payment

Mail in payment along with the top portion of the billing statement using the self-addressed return envelope to: Towson University, Bursar’s Office, P.O. Box 17317, Baltimore, MD 21297-1317.

In-Person Payment

The Bursar's Office Payment and Rebate Check Disbursement Center  is located in the Enrollment Service Center, room 336 and is open Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.

Online Bill Payment

Payment in full for your bill may be made online by credit card at Towson Online Services. (Click Self Service>Student Center>Make A Payment under the Finances section. Your student account username and password are required to make payment online. Note: Debit and bank check card payments cannot be processed through the Web payment site.

Wire Transfer

Payments can be made by wire transfer. For bank information to submit a wire transfer, please contact Elizabeth Guzick at 410-704-3807. The student's name and TU ID number should appear on the wire transfer document.

TuitionPay (Sallie MaeSM) Payment Plan

The university offers a payment plan administered through TuitionPay (Sallie MaeSM). The TuitionPay (Sallie MaeSM) payment plan extends to students a monthly budget plan for meeting the cost of tuition, university fees, and on-campus housing and meals for either the academic year or term.

 Employee Tuition Remission

Towson University offers tuition remission benefits to employees, spouses and dependents who wish to takes courses at the university. Tuition remission forms, deadlines and guidelines are available from the Office of Human Resources.

Programs of Study Exempted from Employee Tuition Remission

Programs exempted from tuition remission at Towson University include one-to-one courses such as advanced studio and private lessons; self-support programs such as computer certification courses, College of Education closed contract courses and courses offered through The Center for Applied Information Technology and The Towson Learning Network; and courses offered during Minimester.  Exceptions may apply in cases where the academic department recommends that a course(s) be taken in order to permit a student completion of a degree program.  Appeals of any decisions to exclude a course from tuition remission exception are to be directed first to the appropriate Dean or their designee for a decision.  Appeals of the Dean/designee’s decision will be reviewed by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Financial Aid

You'll receive information about your financial aid awards from TU's Office of Financial Aid. Federal regulations governing financial aid programs require that all aid be applied first to a student's basic costs of tuition, fees and other direct costs billed by the school. If you finalize your aid as early as possible, and register for classes at the earliest opportunity, your aid may be on your account when the Bursar’s Office generates your term bill, and will show as an offset to your charges.

Third Party Payment Agreement

The university will accept third party contractual agreements with verification of third-party funds.
