Missed the Grad Fair?Fall graduates who were unable to attend the Grad Fair may still place their academic regalia order at the University Store Customer Service desk during regular store hours. Orders may also be placed online by clicking on the link below. Graduates must place their regalia order by Friday, November 13 to be guaranteed 6 guest tickets to the ceremony.
Regalia Pick-up or Ship Orders placed at the Grad Fair or in the University Store by November 13 will be ready for pick-up on the following dates/times:
Orders placed online by November 13 will also be available for pick-up during the above dates/times. Online and in store orders may also be shipped to a home address via UPS Ground. Orders placed by November 13 will ship the week of December 7.
Student RegaliaDescriptionThe graduation regalia consists of a gown, cap, tassel, and degree color hood. All gowns are black with the Stephen's Hall logo in gold on the lapel and mid-calf in length. Mortarboard caps and tassels are black. The caps are elasticized; one-size fits all. Bachelor's Gown-The gown has a pointed, full sleeve. Master's Gown-The gown has a distinctive sleeve design that is oblong in shape, and the sleeves are open at the wrist. Doctoral Gown-The gown has bell shaped sleeves that are fitted at the wrist. The upper sleeve has three velvet-flocked bars or stripes. In place of a mortarboard cap, doctoral candidates will wear 4-pointed tams with a gold tassel. Degree Hood-The degree level, as specified by the Academic Costume Code, determines hood dimensions. The gold and white satin lining represents Towson University colors. The velvet band color signifies the degree earned. Student Regalia Pricing Complete Bachelor's & Master's Gown: $49.95 + tax Bachelor & Master Hood or Gown only: $29.95 + tax Doctoral Gown, Tam & Tassel Rental: $35.00 + tax Approval To wear previously purchased regalia for the Winter 2010 Commencement, it must be approved by the Customer Service staff at the University Store and must meet the specifications set forth by the Office of the Provost. Approval for previously purchased regalia will be available beginning October 5 and must be made no later than Friday, November 13. Members of the military may wear their military dress uniform and members of religious orders may wear their religious attire in place of the academic regalia. To wear military or religious attire, notify the University Store at regalia@towson.edu by November 13 to register for the ceremony and receive Commencement tickets. Tickets Each graduate will receive six (6) guest tickets. These tickets and one parking permit will be included when the cap and gown is picked up at the University Store or will be enclosed with cap and gown orders that are shipped. To guarantee your six (6) guest tickets to the ceremony the University Store must receive your regalia order by Friday, November 13. Requests for up to a maximum of 3 additional tickets will be accepted during regalia pick-up in the University Store December 7 - 12. All requests for additional tickets will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.
Faculty RegaliaRental The University Store will begin accepting rental orders for faculty regalia for the Winter 2010 Commencement on Monday, October 5. Faculty will be notified by phone or email when their regalia arrives.
