Freshman Resident Parking Restrictions
Freshman residents are restricted from having a vehicle on campus. Freshman resident students are defined as any student with 29 or less credits who live in housing located on University property, including Millennium Hall, West Village and Towson Run. Unless an exception has been granted, freshman residents may not purchase a permit or park a vehicle on campus. Students found to be in violation of this policy are subject to citations and referral to Judicial Affairs.
Freshman Wait List - Fall 08
Freshman residents may place their name on a wait list for a parking permit, beginning at 10 a.m. on the second Monday of September (Fall '08 - September 8, 2008). Freshman wishing to get on the wait list should follow the links to purchase a permit on-line. Once logged in, the system will provide a prompt to allow students to add their name to the wait list.
Due to the limited availability of spaces on campus, Freshman residents should not expect to be able to purchase a permit. Freshman will be notified via e-mail, if a space becomes available. Please do not contact the office regarding wait list status. If spaces become available, they will be awarded on a first come first serve basis, with priority given to those with over 24 credits.
Exception Requests
Freshman residents wishing to request an exception to park on campus may do so by completing a freshman resident exception request form. Documentation must include all information as indicated on the form.
Exceptions will only be granted for extreme situations - typically those that are of a medical nature of the student. Work related requests will not be considered. At its discretion, parking services will determine if an exception will be granted. If it is granted, the parking location will be determined by the department. Individuals receiving an exception should expect to be assigned parking at the Towson Center lots.
Mini-Mester
Freshman residents who are taking mini-mester classes may purchase a permit for this time. Specific sale dates will be posted in early December. The permit will be valid for use during mini-mester. Effective the first day of spring classes freshman residents who do not have a valid permit for the spring, must remove their vehicles from the campus.
