Calling all Vegetarians! Try our T-Veggie program!
Introduced in the Fall of 2009, T-Veggie offers meat alternatives across campus. Chicken and beef flavored soy based alternatives can be substituted for most meat menu items. Ask the server to make it T-Veggie style or for the soy based alternative version. See a manager for additional details or questions! Look for this sign and others for participating stations!
Balanced U Nutrition Program
We are pleased to announce the launch of Balanced U, Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services’ new health and wellness program.
Balanced U was designed to provide healthy meals and educational wellness tools to engage students and faculty about healthier lifestyle dining options provided within our operations. We want to help students make the connection that their diet can affect how they feel, look and perform.
Through an iconic identification system and trained culinary professionals, our dining services teams help guide guests to healthier food alternatives and options. Whether our customers are in need of certain foods for athletic or fitness reasons, counting calories, or looking for vegetarian or vegan meals, the Balanced U program caters to those needs.
Balanced U promotes healthy whole foods and helps identify those foods that assist with boosting immunity, increase or restore energy and reduce stress, and foods that enhance study sessions.
We encourage the use of reduced sodium products, lower fat products and portion control. We promote increased whole grain intake, fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins from animal and plant sources.
Our focus is on helping our customers learn about what foods will help them feel, look and perform their best. Balanced U was designed to encourage a healthy diet that helps maintain a healthy weight and assists students in adjusting to a new campus lifestyle.
