UNDERGRADUATE PRE-MEDICAL/PRE-DENTAL PROGRAM

Student Opportunities

A large number of academic, social and cultural opportunities are available to Pre-Medical and
Pre-Dental students.  Students are encouraged to attend lectures and to apply for scholarships, undergraduate research awards, honor society membership and other academic awards and honors for which they may be eligible.

Each year the university's Pre-Med/Pre-Dent Committee and the student-run Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Society sponsor programs on topics relevant to students interested in pursuing careers in medicine or dentistry.

Downtoan Baltimore
Two regional medical centers, a psychiatric hospital and two nationally known hospitals are located in Towson, near the TU campus, and in downtown Baltimore. (Towson University is eight miles from Baltimore's Inner Harbor.)  These medical facilities provide opportunities for students to obtain practical experience in a clinical setting before applying to medical or dental school.  In addition, the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area offers a variety of resources for academic and personal enrichment.

Students can learn of these opportunities and others by periodically checking a bulletin board in Smith Hall near room 359. Announcements for Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental students are posted there.
